Two improvements to the editor experience including a revamped sidebar for course navigation and clearer selection controls throughout the editor.

Sidebar within Admin Editor

We've overhauled the left-hand sidebar in the admin editor to put common course-structuring actions in one place.

  • Collapse the sidebar to get more screen space ā€” your preference saves across sessions

  • Collapse or expand your full outline in one click

  • Add, delete, duplicate, and rename units, modules, and sections directly in the sidebar

  • Reorder content up, down, or jump it to the top or bottom of the outline

  • Move sections between units to reorganize without rebuilding

Selection Controls

We've refined how blocks look and behave when you hover, select, and edit them.

  • Hover state shows a light grey border so you can see what you're about to click

  • Selected state shows a blue border so it's clear when a block is active and editable

  • Block toolbar now appears inline at the bottom of the selected block, so it never covers your content

  • Cover image: hovering the page header now shows an "Add cover" button inline
